First, all of the accounts I used below were properly connected to Apple Savings, most with trial deposits that went through properly before I attempted to transfer any funds. And so it began. I wanted to transfer a large amount from Apple Savings to one of my banks to pay off a note that came due. The money went into pending status, so was deducted from my account but never arrived at the other bank. After a week and four or five calls to their account service where I was promised it would go there, but in the end never did, it was "reversed" back to my Apple savings account. I also called my bank and they never saw the funds arrive there. Apple Savings?Goldman never explained to me in any way why this occurred, but it was clear that it was a hold or block on their side. That was a nail-biter. To get the money to the bank to pay off the note I had to connect the Apple savings account to another bank account, then transfer it to that account, and finally transfer it to the bank to pay the note off. This entire ordeal took two weeks with my money hanging in limbo. This totally shook my confidence. NEVER have I had anything like this happen with ACH transfers in the past 20some years! From this point on I only initiated ACH transfers by pulling from the bank where I wanted the money to go instead of pushing it from Apple Savings/ Goldman as that seemed to avoid unexplained blocks by Goldman with my money hanging in cyberspace. So with a loss of trust in Apple savings on my side and to put it to better use I decided to transfer the rest of the money at Apple savings to my investment bank brokerage account for MM funds. I initiated the transfer. Apple Savings called me three days later after the money had already arrived at my investment brokerage bank telling me that they do not approve of the transfer and only would allow me to transfer the funds to the account it had originally come from a month earlier. THEY then proceeded WITHOUT my approval and REVERSED the transfer after we already had purchased MM funds with it at my investment brokerage account the day it had arrived. We had to cancel/reverse the MM funds purchase because we knew Apple Savings/ Goldman would pull it back AGAINST my wishes which I had communcated to them when they called! Can you imagine?? After the money was "reversed" back by Goldman to my Apple savings account, I initiated a transfer to the online savings account at the bank from which it originally came, and that they would "allow" me to transfer the funds back to. They again called first to "confirm" before releasing the funds. Once the money arrived there, I trnasfered it to my investment bank brokerage account to re-purchase the MM funds. This altogether took another two weeks and multiple calls. This all is absolutely positively crazy! These were significant monies. I have done ACH transfers for over 20 years and NEVER EVER had any issues anywhere close to this. NEVER AGAIN!!!
