MacBook Air early 2014 Battery Replacement

Hi ! Recently I have added a brand new battery to my MacBook Air early 2014 at an authorized Apple store here in Brazil, however, the warranty were just for 3 months and my battery is not taking more than 3h of charge. Is that normal ? Shouldn't be as a normal MacBook autonomy and last more than 10h ?

You may wish to go back to the store and ask them about this. However, are you sure this was an official Apple approved repair service? If it was a third party repair service then who knows what kind of battery they may have used.

FYI, Apple changed the rules a bit a few years ago where they now offer to replace the battery for up to 10 yeas after the product is discontinued, however, it still requires the part being available....so it is a bit misleading all around...it sounds better than it is in practice. In fact this extended battery support can be hit or miss...our organization had Apple deny us a battery in a MBAir 2014 one time, but a week or two later replaced the battery in another MBAir 2014 of the exact same model.

Here is the relevant section from the Apple Vintage/Obsolete article linked from within the Apple article you linked for Repair & Service:

Obtaining service for your Apple product after an expired warranty - Apple Support

Additionally, Mac laptops may be eligible for an extended battery-only repair period for up to 10 years from when the product was last distributed for sale, subject to parts availability.

Depending upon which exact model you have, yes. This one says 12 hours even for something that would be battery intensive such as video playback --> MacBook Air (13-inch, Early 2014) - Technical Specifications

Is the battery charged to 100% when you begin to run the laptop from the battery. If the new Battery Health Managment system is enabled, then the battery may stop charging at 80% (or may be drained to 80% in order to exercise the battery). Apple implemented a new Battery Health Management system with an update patch to macOS 10.15.5 I believe.

You may want to run EtreCheck and post the report here for us to review to see whether system is working harder than it should due to some software issues.

Like @Limnos mentions, you should have a 90 day warranty on the battery and/or the repair depending how the repair was performed by Apple.

Hi ! Yes, battery is currently charging to 100% level and there is no option for battery health on MB Air early 2014 and I always could not understand why not putting this option and I have the MacOS BigSur 11.7.6. Is there another section where I can find this option ? By running the EtreCheck I got the results above

You are using an outdated version of EtreCheck. Use the link in my previous post to get the most recent version of the app.

Actually, the battery health management is only for the USB-C Apple laptops, sorry about that confusion.

Regardless of the battery installed, the repair shop should still provide some sort of warranty coverage if the new battery is not performing properly. In case it is a third party battery, you can try calibrating it by charging the laptop to 100% and leaving the charger connected for at least several hours after reaching 100%. Then use the laptop on the battery until the laptop turns off. Re-connect the charger and let it charge to 100% again.
