Downloads are not in folder on iPhone

When I download something it NEVER appears in my folder. Where does it go? How can I view my downloads?

YEAH……. If you have iCloud enabled, everything automatically goes there and not your phone at all.

I love how Apple did this so that you use up all your iCloud space and I have to buy more for the people that don’t realize what’s going on

I’m not sure if turning off iCloud automatically redirect files to a download folder or if you’re able to then specify where they go

Just another money grab from Apple

Like many in this community, I can't seem to download files onto my iphone. Sometimes it works and the files show up in my Downloads folder, but mostly they just never appear anywhere on my iphone or icloud storrage.

Example: on the OneDrive app on my iPhone 13, I only have the options to "share" or "make available offline". There is no option to "save" or to "download". So... if I "Share" via email to my own email address, I get a link to the file in the received email. After clicking on the link, I'm taken to a browser window that has the file, and have the option to "download". But after clicking on that download icon, the file still doesn't show up anywhere on my iPhone.

This is my first iPhone. The experience overall has been... well... awful !!! The people at apple have mostly all been terrific. But the many issues that have require their help, have taken me to the point that I just want to go back to Android. Hey, there's a thought... Simple solution to all those android users who can't understand apple's filing system... go back to Android.

For google, the fix I found was that the files were trying to run instead of save I think?

> Click download.

> Confirm Download on pop up at bottom of screen and WAIT.

> Once downloaded click the 'Open in...' prompt that replaces the download circle.

> At top of page there is a title, use the drop down arrow next to it and choose 'Save to Files'

Choose where you want to save it, and press save in upper right to confirm.

I also created my own downloads folder in the On my iPad section for ease. If you create a folder and call it 'Downloads' it will recognise it and change its thumbnail.

For me the answer was not where the downloads are but that I did not actually download them in the first place. Coming from Windows once the <<download>> button is clicked, the file is saved in the Download folder; this is NOT the case in iPhone. In the iPhone you also have to go to the <<Save>> button and click it. And you have to scroll down the menu to to <<Save>> button. I did not even know I could scroll down.
