Apple Gift Card (Special Offer)

Hi there,

Around August 15th, 2022, we purchased a MacBook Pro from the education shop and at the time, they had a special offer with a gift card. We did not read the fine print and realized that the $150 gift card was not free with the purchase, but that we had to pay it off in installments. I have a remaining balance inside my iTunes account and even set it up so that the payments would come from my Apple Wallet towards the card. Even after I did this, they still charge my other credit card for the monthly installments. What's the problem here? At this point, the card has nearly been paid off, but we are still confused why they don't allow me to change to a different method properly.

The installment plan would have been for the entire order. MacBook and the gift card together.

Since the installments go through the Apple Credit Card, only that payment method is used and charged each month.

The gift card wasn't technically charged. What happened was that the cost of the MacBook was reduced by the amount in the gift card. So instead of paying $1000 dollars for the Mac, you only paid $850 for the Mac and 150 for the card. The order total is still the $1000 that the Mac was priced at.

What exactly are you trying to change to a different payment method? The Monthly installments are charged to the Apple Card and can not be moved to another payment method.

The Gift card balance can be used with any other purchase you make at any point in time.
