Hi there. Despite following all the usual instructions, I’m unable to ungroup apps on my iPhone. I can drag an app out of its folder, but it simply won’t reposition on the screen and just jumps back into the folder when I let go. Can’t believe I’m the only person with this issue? Would love any advice anyone can give. Many thanks!

Have you checked Settings>Screen Time? Try turning it off and see if that makes a difference. Also, try moving the folder to an empty screen and then try dragging things out of it. Maybe there's not enough room on the screen?
Another thought. There used to be a maximum number of apps you could display. If you had more than that, you could still access them through Search but you couldn't see the icons. I don't know if that's still true and don't remember what the limits are.
Thanks for that. I think it must be because there's no "space" for the app on the page I'm trying to drag it to. I'd expect it just to push other apps on the page to a subsequent page, but it seems it doesn't do that. All feels a bit clunky for Apple, but I think this has helped me to at least work out what the problem is! Many thanks
It will jump back only if you are not leaving it on the Home Screen.
Sadly it jumps back even if I try to drag it to the Home Screen...
If I recall correctly, moving apps around will force other apps to move but taking them out of a folder doesn't work that way. Don't know why.
