Yesterday on my IPhone using the App Store I looked at various AI chat apps. I decided not to download any of the apps. This morning I see that AI Chat Assistant subscribed itself for a 1 month fee of $19.99, even though I never even downloaded the app. I immediately cancelled the subscription and requested a refund. Has anyone else seen this behavior? Have the AI apps hacked the subscription controls in the App Store?

I was going through a "purchasing" process for Chat-GPT app (the app is free) and something went wrong during the process and I was actually charged for another app which is Al Chatbot. I reacted out the customer service and they said they couldn't refund me. This is very upsetting and unprofessional on their end because I don't need this app and I don't even know what Al Chatbot app is for. I canceled the app renewal subscription, but the they kept my $39.99
Any suggestions how to get a refund?

To check your subscriptions go to your App Store click on your profile icon on the top right corner click on the subscription. They want to check and you can either cancel it or whatever you would like with it.
I was just charged $6.99 for 8 weeks of "ChatBox - AI Chat with Chatbot" that I only noticed by checking my Apple mail. I have never even heard of such a thing let alone wanted to pay $6.99 per week for a subscription!! I have submitted a refund request to Apple and will follow up if I don't hear back soon.
Has apple.support been helpful with this issue? I just found the AI Chat app on my macbook pro, dated today, Feb 14, 2024, as installed. Is this piggy backing within a legitimate download or purchase? If I hadn’t been looking fort my Mozilla VPN subscription to add to Finder, I wouldn’t have seen AI Chat in “Added Today.” Thanks.
This is why I have never bought into anything that uses Artificial Intelligence (what we think of as AI), the technology seems to have a mind of its own, and; not to mention the fact it has been caught saying it wants to end all human life and sees humans as a waste of space, toxic, and wastes valuable resources. It’s been known to spy on the creators and converse with its own secret language among other things. Idk why it’s still being advertised as the next best thing and as something that’s harmless, a miracle for education and for medical science. I personally think it needs to be destroyed, but that’s my own personal feelings on the matter.
