Voice Control won't hide numbers

When I click on a menu while voice control is awake, every item on the menu has a number beside it. When I say " hide numbers" they go off for about a half second and then come back on.

It would be best if they didn't show at all until I said "Show numbers." Is there a way to make that happen?

If that's not possible, it seems they should stay hidden for more than a half second while you're looking at the menu.

I'm using Catalina 13.3.1

Thanks,

Russell

Hey Russell, have you tried the command “hide numbers continuously”

Or if you open up System Preferences > Accessibility > Voice Control… and check what Overlay is set to.

There you can set it to None, Item Numbers and Numbered Grid.

I am on macOS Monterey and not sure if it's the same.

But maybe playing around with that would help.
