Cant send &receive messsges between Samsung &Apple, or is it our carriers?

I have a Galaxy A51. My daughter has an iPhone 11. My carrier for the Samsung is Airvoice Wireless, a Lifeline provider.

Her carrier is Cricket.

Our messsges are not going thru, I mean none on my end, picture and/or text. The Samsung uses MMS. Dont I want SMS? Could that be the problem? Could it be an incompatibility btwn Apple and Android, or is it our carriers?

It’s one of your carriers.

SMS is your carriers’ method to send/receive simple text messages. MMS is your carriers’ method to send/receive messages with attachments such as photos. In either case, there is a carrier issue.
