Applepay not transferring to bank account

Apple pay will let me enter the request but the "transfer" icon is dim and won't complete the transaction. I have been using apple pay for years with the same account. Tried turning off, restarting phone, turning apple pay back on and it remains the same problem. Also tried re-adding the bank account information. Still nothing.

That's exactly what mine was doing. Following Jeff's suggestion to:

  1. force restart
  2. sign out of icloud on iphone (and whatever else iphone tells you is required for that if you have lockdown mode enabled)
  3. force restart
  4. sign into icloud
  5. force restart
  6. attempt transfer

...is the process that worked for me.

You can transfer funds in Apple Cash to an external account. This support article covers all the details to transfer the funds.

Transfer money in Apple Cash to your bank account or debit card - Apple Support

How to transfer money to your bank or eligible debit card

When you transfer money from your Apple Cash1 card, you can either use a bank transfer to send funds to your bank account in 1 to 3 days or you can use Instant Transfer2 to send funds instantly3 to an eligible Mastercard or Visa debit card.

You can also send money to an individual in Messages or Wallet.

Depending on if your want an instant transfer (fees involved) or ACH transfer of 1 to 3 days (no fees) the setup instructions are in the article linked to above.

OK, assuming you iPhone is up to date, please do a forced restart of your iphone.

Force restart iPhone - Apple Support

Once the iPhone restarts please log out of your Apple ID/iCloud account. Once logged out do a forced restart again. Once restarted, please log back into your account. Once logged back into your Apple ID, do one more forced restart and then try you transfer. If you need to add cards to Apple Pay/Apple Wallet, just for reference here’s the support article.

Why so many forced restarts? I can’t answer that. But the people that have report this works, have done all the restarts. In the overall scheme of things, it takes about 15 minutes for the whole process.

I have been using this for several years, same bank account without problems. It just stopped working on my iPhone14 with all the current updates. I have, restarted, reset the bank transfer information twice in accordance with the apple instructions. It did it once more (same apple instructions) and I am still getting the dimmed transfer button therefore not allowing me to complete the transfer. I have warned off anyone sending me any funds for the time being.
