Can't get Yahoo Mail added to iPhone Mail App

I have a solution - turn off Yahoo 2 factor authentication. I had mine on and contacted Yahoo mail support. Once it was off I was able to get my email set up. I turned 2 factor authentication back on the next day (needed to wait 24 hours because too many attempts). Either way, it worked!

Is two factor the same as account key? I can't seem to find anything in the settings for the app or the website that says anything about two factor. I started to turn off the account key and switch to password, but then I got spooked it would lock me out altogether.

I switched from using the account key for two factor authentication to my cell phone and a PIN number and that seemed to work. Additionally, I signed into Yahoo on a computer before doing so and deleted all connected accounts. Not sure if it was pure luck or what I actually did!

My dad has the same issue. When he presses the Yahoo account type (when adding a new mail account via the Settings app, mail and add account) the screen initially displays the api.yahoo.com (as if it's loading the Yahoo sign-in page) and then flashes back to the available account types to add.

He's running the latest version of iOS 17.4.1 (as am I). I can press the option on my iPhone and I get the standard Yahoo email sign-in page. But for him it tries to load it and then returns to account types.

I've cleared his Safari history as thought it could be linked, restarted the device, powered down the device and back on. Closed all open apps but to no avail.

"I logged into my yahoo account on desktop, went to account settings, then viewed active devices. I deleted my iOS device access, went back to install yahoo on my iPhone and it worked 😅 Hopefully this works for others too!"

Same here, trying the solution above worked for one of my accounts but not the other. It must be a bug on apples side. I tried to log into the yahoo app and that worked but not the mail app sadly

Another one for leaving off the @yaho.com - worked for me.

Same problem. Couldn’t get mail to sync. Searched for solution - said to uninstall and reinstall. Cannot reinstall with or without @yahoo.com. iPhone 15.

Maybe temporarily change to password. Then revert back after you are able to reload Yahoo onto your phone.

I was able to finally sign back in using my phone number and putting in the verification code texted to me.

It's likely a browser Cache thing. When you take out all the active screens/opened apps on Iphone's you have, it works
