Changing WiFi on AppleTV

We recently changed our home Wi-Fi to a mesh network, and we have not been able to reset our AppleTV Wi-Fi. We have gone into settings in AppleTV (with the remote, displayed on the TV) and carefully put in the new network and password using correct case sensitive login and it just doesn’t recognize it. I have also gone into the AppleTV app on my iPad to try to reset it from there, but under TV there is no Settings mode (even when I search, it doesn’t have a Settings mode). Any advice on what’s wrong or what to try?

Apple TV HD, tvOS 16

Sharing passwords is possible to others devices, but the Network Name has to be selected first. Here is a support article detailing the procedure, although it does not specifically state Apple TV.

How to share your Wi-Fi password from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

My suggestion is to change the network setting on the router to show the SSID (network name). It will then show up in the Apple TV network settings and you can choose it, then type in the password. After it is connected, you can then hide the network again on your router, if you want to, and the Apple TV will remember the network.

There is much debate on the effectiveness of hiding the Network Name for security and the Apple TV has been hit and miss on connecting to one. In any case, the choice is yours and this will get it working on your Apple TV.
