MacBook Pro - Late 2016. Keyboard and trackpad not working

Hi all,

My MacBook's keyboard and trackpad simultaneously stopped working, I tried all the software procedures to no success. I then took it in to the genius bar and they said the logic board and bottom case has corrosion issues, out of curiosity I opened it up and found no corrosion, except for a couple of pins on the trackpad flex cable. Could this cable be the root of all my problems? Or is it more likely a serious issue.
