All sent emails are returned as "blocked"

My wife has a regular sender (her sister) who has suddenly (3 days ago) found that all the emails she has sent to my wife are returned as "blocked". She has checked with her service provider who is of the opinion that the problem lies with us, not hem. I have had difficulty in trying to find the source of this problem which affects both my wife's iPhone and iPad. As far as we can tell, no other sender is having the same problem.

It seems to me that, because the problem affects 2 devices, the problem is likely to affect a common point for both which would be the BT server. However, in an effort to solve the problem I have:

1. Checked using my laptop that none of of the "blocked" emails are showing on the BT server.

2. Shut down and reopened both devices.

3. Deleted my wife's sister's email address from my contacts and re-entered it on both devices.

4. Checked that there are no blocked senders in the email app on the iPhone.

5. Checked that there are no blocked senders on my BT internet account.

One thing I have been unable to check is the blocked senders on my wife's iPad which uses OS 12.5.7 which does not have a blocked senders facility on Settings > Mail > Threading where I would expect to find it.

Any help would be much appreciated.

If none of the emails are showing on BT's server, the problem is not, as you have guessed, with you or your devices. Most cellular providers will try to "resolve" the support call as quickly as possible. They reps have quotas to make. Very frequently, they will try to pass the buck to Apple, even when that's not what's really going on. Call them back and escalate the call.

This is the slightly odd thing - neither of us have ever knowingly blocked a sender. This is a good idea and it occurs to me that I could achieve the same result by switching off every device we own and then asking my wife's sister to email us. If she gets a notification that her email is still blocked that would indicate that the fault lies with my provider as there would be no way for our devices to intervene in the process. Thanks for your help, I'll give it a try.

Hi

Thanks for your input. So far I have had good service from my provider but, before I escalate the problem, I would like to make sure I have taken all the steps I can to solve the problem. The aspect I cannot exclude is that there may be a blocked sender on my wife's iPad, hence my question on how to check for blocked senders on a iPad using OS 12.5.7 – blocked senders does not appear in Settings > Mail > Threading which is the location suggested by Apple.
