Ventura Update is completely stuck
Hello! I work in a small IT department and have a couple Macbooks with an apparent update issue. The problem is this: When the user updates the computer (either from Monterey to Ventura or from one version of Ventura to another) the update runs apparently successfully, the login screen is presented, and when the user logs in with their credentials, the computer goes back to the Apple logo and gets stuck there at about 5% (roughly) of the bar. Nothing I do fixes this. Steps I've tried:
- Restart the computer (also restarted after holding down the power button for 10 seconds.)
- Boot into Safe Mode (this does not work. Cannot boot into Safe Mode as it results in the same issue as described.)
- Re-installed macOS Ventura.
I operate in a Jamf environment and am the Jamf admin, and am starting to wonder if a config profile might be causing an issue. The difficult part is not being able to really test or remove config profiles while the computers are in the state. Has anyone seen this bug/issue before? Both computers I have are M1 processors. One is an M1 Max, the other is an M1 Pro. Both are 2021 Macbook Pro, 14" & 16" with 32gb of RAM.
Thanks!
