Firmware password

My computer was stolen and I just got it back but it has a lock on the srceen and a password for firmware I don’t know the password because I bought the computer from my boyfriend and I can’t get ahold of him being his is unreasonable at the moment please help

If someone's AppleID was used to lock the Mac after it was stolen, then the person's whose AppleID locked the Mac will need to perform the steps in the last section of this Apple article:

If your Mac is lost or stolen - Apple Support


Otherwise you either need the firmware password, or the original owner of the Mac will need to take the computer to an Apple Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider along with acceptable proof of purchase and acceptable ID to confirm ownership before Apple will unlock the Mac.
