Previously, the movies in my Wish List could either be rented or purchased, but lately the only option is purchase. What changed? Can I fix this?

You can’t fix this. It’s all up to the movie company as to whether you can rent or purchase their movie. Many of the new releases that are still in theaters cannot be rented until a certain date, or can’t be rented at all.

Thanks. I realize this is true for newer releases but several on my wish list are older (10-20 years 🙄) so I didn’t expect a refusal of renting.
It sucks to have to buy a movie you may never want to see again.

or try to rent them using other apps than apples
If you wouldn’t mind giving me an example I’ll check it from my end to see if it can be rented.
