I am still currently having the same trouble with my videos and even deleted them to restore. Apple can you fix this because this is nerve-wrecking.

yes! I just checked and it indeed seems that the problem is with h264 videos… tomorrow I’ll call them…

I’m having the same issue as well. Right around October. Extremely frustrating when I’m paying for 1TB iCloud storage and can’t access photos of my son when he was a baby! Apple, please fix!!!

Nope. They can’t fix this. I have contacted apple support about this…

If you need to download the full video from iCloud onto your device to watch that video, that is not a solution but a complete abysmal failure of any paid video sharing/streaming service.

Unfortunately when I try this I get a popup that says "Cannot start editing: photos cannot load edits for this video" :( glad it works for you though!

Tried this. Error popped up saying "cannot duplicate video" "an error occurred while duplicating this video, please try again later".

Hey keyboard warrior, this doesn't work with older videos that were not backed-up to iCloud.
