OK people I finally had someone at AT&T help me and solve my verification text issue after months of getting nowhere. Check all of your blocked numbers. Do you see the ones that don’t look like real phone numbers but are just long string of random numbers in groups? Check to see if you have blocked them if so, unblock them. It turns out I had blocked numbers that shouldn’t have been blocked- I have no recollection of consciously doing this but whatever the reason I unblocked the numbers and I am now receiving text codes. - it’s worth a try to check your blocked numbers. I finally found a representative at AT&T customer service who patiently worked with me.

Generally, those verification codes are sent using Short Code Text Messaging. These short code text messages are received from a 5 or 6 digit phone number. This capability/feature is provided and managed by your carrier. I recommend that you contact your carrier and tell them about not receiving verification codes which may be sent over short code messaging service. Their support team should be able to address this for you and find a resolution.

Hi teun129:

I tried all the solutions recommended but they were of no help. The agent at their advanced technical support team (tel: (866) 288-7629) deleted my old eSIM and installed a new one. It worked instantly.

Reinstalling the eSIM may be the equivalent of using a cannon when a rifle would do, but it beats beating around the bush and wasting a lot of time trying different things. In any case, the agents at the advanced technical support can dig deeper into a problem than the regular agents and may be able to solve your problem faster.

Hope this info helps.

Hello! Just wanted to say thanks a million for this post and tour answer. I wasn’t getting verification code text messages and was in a panic because we needed one to get into my sons college account to meet with his freshman college advisor via zoom who is 2200 miles away. I googled it real quick and your answer came up. I tried it and it worked right away. First impressions are everything so we didn’t wanna screw the zoom up. Thanks again!

This is SPOT ON!

I just hung up with Verizon after reading it verbatim and the rep said that is exactly what I should have called and said… And it worked!

WHAT WORKED FOR ME was calling verizon and having them “refresh,” and “re-sync” my “phone on the network” (their words, not mine). They used both words interchangeably (refresh/re-sync). They sent me text sms messages and when it worked, I tested it by trying to sign into a website that wasn’t able to send me the 6-digit codes for nearly a week that I really needed to sign I to.

This worked for me as well! Having verizon sync the phone with the network again. Had to call twice, the first person i spoke to tried to send 3 messages, and just blamed the iphone, which is a 13 pro and has always worked. Said "go to apple its on their end" when i specifically asked if everything on the network side was good. So yes ask them to resync or sync the phone and network.
