iPhone can’t send pictures to non-iPhone users

I’ve had the same issue for 5+ years with 3 different iPhones. I can’t send or receive pictures to non-iPhone users. I also don’t receive any messages from groups with even a single non-iPhone user is in. I have obviously restarted my phone, played with ALL the settings, talked to my phone provider. SMS and MMS is on. The phone provider: Verizon said to contact apple, as there’s nothing in my plan that would prevent this.

There is nothing in the phone that would prevent this. However, you may have to check settings:

  • In Settings/Messages, turn on MMS. If you don’t have a switch for MMS that means that your carrier has not “provisioned” MMS on your account.
  • You must have Cellular Data enabled, because MMS can only use Cellular Data, it cannot use Wi-Fi because your carrier cannot access your Wi-Fi connection.
