Don't be angry. Figure out what is using your battery. At a minimum, when you updated, did you restart your watch after updating it? If no, you should always restart your watch or any iOS based device after every update.

With WatchOS 9.5.2, battery life on my Ultra has been absolutely fantastic, so it's clearly not an issue with the update.

I have an Apple Watch 5 and after the update to 9.5, my battery barely makes it through a work day. Battery life prior was normal.

I have an Apple Watch series 8 and I have the same issue with battery running down quickly after 9.5 update, so it’s not only the series 4

I have an old watch (Series 4), but I also just paid Apple $80 to replace the battery a couple of months ago. After the ios update last week, I am getting 7 hours tops out of the thing.

I think it’s OS 9.5. I have the Apple Watch ultra and the battery does not last a day after upgrade.

Same here. Series 6 prior to 9.5 would wake up with ~90% and always last the day With 9.5, it’s down to about 60%, and needs a top up before usual evening charge to make it through the day

I own an Apple watch 7, same battery drainage issue I am also facing after upgrading my watch os to 9.5. After an overnight charge to 100%, by 12:00 noon the watch drains to 0%.

I think it’s WatchOS 9.5 problem. I’m using Watch Ultra, typically battery lasts 2-3 days, after software update, battery drains in 1 day. I just did restart, unpair and hopefully it will help.

Do you mean your battery health is at 5%? If you do, your battery is way beyond used up. No update can do that, nor can any update fix a battery which is showing battery health of 5%.

I’ve been following this post for a week now and I appreciate all that you have posted to try and help people. It appears to have worked for some, but I have tried everything you have posted multiple times and my watch is still not holding a charge. It is 100% a software issue and Apple needs to fix it ASAP. Bottom line: I had a fully functioning watch that held a charge for 24+ hrs with normal use, then I performed the update and now I’m lucky to get 6-8 hrs on a full charge. Please keep posting anything you guys find and hopefully Apple will put out a fix!

Thanks, great point. I guess based on all the posts I’ve seen that they have to already know, but the more squeaky wheels there are the better. I will submit something to Apple feedback immediately and would encourage everyone else that is reading this and having similar problems do the same! I’ll eventually reach out to customer service or go into a store, but here’s to hoping they just fix it quickly with another update.

I updated watch today and it doesn’t appear to have helped mine at all. I have an Apple Watch 4 with battery still at 88% health, have tried all the fixes and still draining like crazy compared to a week ago where it would last 18 hours, including a 45 minute workout. Maybe it’s a phone update that is needed?
