Assistive Touch home button on my mom’s iPhone SE comes on randomly, won’t go away no matter what!
My mom’s iPhone SE will not let us turn off the on-screen assistive home button permanently. It keeps popping up, after a complete wipe and re-install. We turn it off Assistive Touch in the Settings/Accessibility/Touch panel, and make sure all of the assistive shortcuts are off, and it just keeps popping back up after a minute or two. I also just installed the latest upgrade before the wipe and re-install. No luck. It’s still doing it. It even disables the actual home button.
Now, before someone comes on here and says “it’s because your battery is less than 90%,” I’m walking around with an 8 Plus at 73% and it doesn’t happen to me. Someone on here had the same problem with a brand-new battery at 100%. Lots of people walkin’ around with 80% batteries that don’t have this problem.
It has to be a software glitch that Apple doesn’t want to bother fixing.
Since I got this refurbished phone for her in March from eBay with the Square Trade protection, I’ve got the go-ahead to take it in for repairs and will get reimbursed 100%. I will report back with any actual, useful information I get.
