trackpad won't click on login screen OS ventura

Hello there,

I do not switch off my Mac Mini very often, but it so happens that I did recently, and I found out that I couldn't relogin again with my magic trackpad because although the pointer would move over the screen when moving over my pad, I couldn't CLICK on my user to start typing in my password. I have spent a few hours trying to research and implement a few proposed solutions but in vain. I have been able to log in using a normal mouse. I guess this is a bug from Ventura. Another thing that I have noticed is that the trackpad doesn't click any more even though the silent mode is turned off.

I would appreciate any kind of help!
