The brightness slider in Settings and Control Center has no effect on iPhone 12 Pro screen brightness

Hey,

The brightness slider in Settings and Control Center has no effect on the actual screen brightness.

Brightness is so low I have to sit in complete darkness to see what I write.

This happened after what appeared to be the iPhone 12 Pro restarting or crashing during streaming of an Apple movie after getting the first low battery alert.

Before the crash/restart the phone worked 100%. After - I see a waning saying there is an issue with Face ID.

I have updates iOS and restarted device serval times. No change. Face ID is still not working and brightness sliders everywhere has no affect.

I have checked accessibility options, and focus modes. All disabled. Running latest iOS 16.5.

I guess a classic “full factory reset” is the only way forward (and restore backup if issue is fixed)?

Yeah, ran diagnostics on the device. Apparently the low-battery crash/restart (likely due to the low battery charge) caused several hardware components to fail: compass and TrueDepth sensors are now not working.

Booked Apple Genius Bar to get it fixed. Arg.
