Your Mac may report that it has two banks of RAM. However, the last MacBook Pro with actual physical memory modules in slots that could be upgraded was sold in 2012 as a non-Retina model.
Since then, EVERY model MacBook Pro has the RAM chips soldered to the mainboard for maximum reliability.
The only practical way to increase the amount of RAM on board is to convert your computer to CASH (by selling it) and using the cash to obtain a computer that better meets your needs.
What issues are you having that led you to ask about additional RAM?
Many times, people here ask about adding RAM RAM when the true issue is storage or, too often, useless third-party utilities like anti-virus or so-called "cleaning" apps that only clean your wallet.
Unfortunately RAM cannot be upgraded after purchase, for models MacBook Pro from the last ~10 years, as it is soldered onto the motherboard (not an actual slot).
Hi,
You can't upgrade RAM after purchased since RAM is "printed" on the Apple Silicon chip. Also no slot for the RAM upgrade.
