Make sure CarPlay isn't restricted. Go to Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions. If Content & Privacy Restrictions is on, tap Allowed Apps, and make sure that CarPlay is enabled. Check your car's infotainment system menus for CarPlay, and see that your iPhone is listed and enabled.

Similar. Rav4 hybrid. iPhone either doesn’t connect, or connects and flashes ( losses connections and reconnects) every few minutes

Sometimes the volume knob actually stops and starts the music ( like a pause feature 🤣).

& Toyota says not their issue.
