Lightning USB Camera adaptor not compatible with iPadOS 16.5

I just returned from the Genius Bar, where I learned that the USB Lightning Camera adaptor is not compatible with iPadOS 16.5. Before I upgraded, I could hook the adaptor into the lightning port on my iPad, and then connect the adaptor to a powered hub, which both powered the iPad through the hub's charging port, and provided 4 USB ports for my accessories. Once I upgraded to 16.5, the iPad stopped charging through the adaptor. I hope Apple will fix this soon!

Subsequent to the iOS/iPadOS 16.5 update, there is an issue with charging the iPad from USB Type-A Power Adapters, via the USB3 Camera Adapter - regardless of the Power Adapter’s power output.

The current workaround is to use an Apple USB-C Power Adapter with a USB-C to Lightning charging cable.

I use the camera adapter on my iPhone 8 to connect to my iPad when using Garageband to record backing tracks I create, using a USB-powered mixer. The USB 3 cable goes to the mixer; the lightning cable is to power the USB mixer. My question is about power differences. The iPad charger is 12w; the USB-C charger is 20w. That going to be a problem for my iPad or mixer? Risk of burnout?
