Hello Lindawwtwolips,

It sounds like you're sharing an Apple ID. It's recommended that each person have their own Apple ID to avoid issues like this.

1) To get started, we'd recommend setting up Family Sharing and creating an Apple ID for your son, you can learn how to do that here: Create an Apple ID for your child - Apple Support

2) Family sharing allows you to share all of your purchases with your family while keeping your data like photos, messages and notes private. Once you've created the account, you'll need to sign out of your Apple ID on his device. Here's how you can do that: Sign out of iCloud on your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Apple TV, or Mac - Apple Support

3) After signing out, sign in with the Apple ID you created. Sign in with your Apple ID - Apple Support

Thanks.

On your phone.......

Tap Settings

Scroll down and tap Messages

Tap Send & Receive

Make sure that the check mark only appears next to your phone number

If there is a check mark next to another number......(your son's).....tap on that number to remove the check mark

Since you are sharing an Apple ID with your son......this may or may not help.

If it does.....you will need to get a hold of your son's phone to perform the same type of check......to make sure that he is not seeing your messages......unless you want him to.
