What can I do if my Mac reminders won't sync to iPhone?

Hi All,

I am having an issue with my reminders syncing properly. If I create a new reminder on my phone it syncs and shows up on my computer. However, if I create a reminder on my computer, it does not sync to my phone.

I have tried all the basic stuff: making sure its turned on in icloud; logged into same account; internet access; date and time settings; software updates; etc....

Any suggestions?

WORKED!! I just updated my MacBook Air Early 2015 to Monterey 12.7.4 and iPhone 15Pro to IOS 17.4.1. I also turned off Reminders in iCloud on my MacBook only and back on and everything now syncs. It took a few minutes because I was going to reply that it didn't work but it ended up working. I've tried several test; adding reminders on my MacBook and then when they appear on my iPhone, deleting them and also resorting the different reminders list and everything seems to be syncing up fine now. Thanks for the suggestions from others!

Sadly the Calendar Refresh trick didn't work for me. I finally reached out to support directly the other day, and let me say the experience has been less than great. I've had to repeat every single step several times over as I get bounced between reps who clearly are just operating by script. At least I now I have several "Senior support agents" who have corroborated what is happening.

After this last round of testing with Apple support, now none of the devices are syncing reminders to icloud.

Latest tests:

  • update iOS and OSX to latest builds. Updated the iphone 16 over cable as opposed to OTA. Updated the ipad OTA.
  • Sign-out of icloud on ALL devices. » Sign-in to iCloud device by device.
  • Remove reminders from all devices (note, you cannot delete reminders from OSX).
  • Delete ALL reminders, all lists, everything. No legacy reminders, no legacy due dates. Basically start from square 0.

Now none of the devices will sync reminders to icloud, meaning an add/update/complete/delete on any 1 device won't show up on any other device. If I log-in to reminders on iCloud and add/update/complete there, that gets pushed to ALL devices.

Other iCloud services work as expected (notes, photos, freeform, drive, etc.) It is entirely isolated to reminders.

I moved to Reminders so that A) I could use Siri to add things to lists while I was driving, etc. B) use collaborative lists with my kids (grocery lists, etc.) and C) it struck the right balance of being easy to use but with good options for sorting, prioritizing, tracking, etc. but given I've had to wipe out ALL 300+ of the reminders I'd created and categorized over the last year I guess it's time to go back to something that actually works reliably.

The support experience has been pretty typical of a large corp, but the worst was the latest rep scheduled a follow-up call for today. 15 minutes past the appointed time (I have a stacked schedule), I wrote an email asking for an update, to which I got a reply they would call me in 20–30 minutes. That's almost a full hour later than the scheduled time. What's the point of scheduling a call?!?!?! Rearrange my next meeting to take the call, only to be told they don't have any further next steps because their supervisor hasn't gotten around to reviewing anything yet, and we should schedule another call.... Ummmm nope! That could have just been an email or text?!
