Using Wifi for internet and Ethernet to access local devices

Hi,

I have a Macbook Pro running Ventura 13.2.1.

My mac is connected to the internet via Wifi and all is ok on that side.

I have a small network switch connected to my mac using a USB C ethernet adapter.

On that network switch, I have connected a device that I need to access.

It's a programmable video player for signage (Brightsign HD224)

It can be accessed with a web browser, by entering it's IP address.

So, Wifi for internet access and wired ethernet for access to devices connected to the ethernet switch.

My problem is that I can't access the video player if the Wifi is active.

If the wifi is on and I enter the IP address of the player in Safari, it will not connect to it.

If I turn off wifi, I can then connect to the video player with out problem.

Can anyone help with this?

How can I set things up so that both Wifi and wired network are working at the same time?

Thanks.

Hi nav,

I'm not sure I understand what you mean.

Are you talking about the IP address and Subnet mask for the network adapter?

If so, then I would say no.

The IP address of the adapter is 192.168.1.50 and the IP address for the wifi is 192.168.1.11

Subnet mask for both is 255.255.255.0

Should I configure the ethernet adapter to a different IP address range? like 192.168.200.50 instead?

Does Subnet mask need to be different too?

Thanks for your help
