Receiving AirPod notification that the two AirPod pros are different generations but they are the same.

I lost my AirPod case about a month ago so I tried to put them into a different case to charge. After doing this the AirPods Pros now keep saying that one is 1st generation and the other is 2nd generation even though they are the same. They are refusing to charge as well. Is there anything I can do to fix this.

The pods won't pair. My guess is the pods are still associated with their original cases. Is there any way to reset/unpair them so this case can adopt both pods? Or do I need Apple Support to wipe the serial associations on their end?

AirPods Pro gen 2 authentic? Hello, I have purchased a pair of AirPods pro gen 2. Checking the serial number on the side of the box I can see it matches that written on the inside of the AirPod charging case lid. The model number says A2700 Each AirPod then also has the same serial number printed as as the box They have a different model number to the case (A2931) Checking the same details inside my phone settings when connected I get a completely different serial number and also a different model number (A2618). It also says 2 separate serial numbers for each AirPod. Both serial numbers (case and phone setting) check out fine on the apple serial number check. i also have an issue where the AirPods will not seamlessly switch between devices, something I have never experienced. I have to ‘forget’ the items before reconnecting to a separate phone or laptop every time. Could someone advise what the issue could be here or if this is normal? Thanks in advance Ali

I bought a replacement right airpod pro (2nd gen) and It wont pair with each other or by itself. I bought a replacement Airpod Pro (R) and when I try to pair it to my phone or MacBook with both the right replacement Airpod pro and my old left airpod it says mismatch airpods but both have been forgotten from my device and ICloud find my iPhone. When I try to pair the right replacement by itself in the case it just flashes white with no prompt coming up and when I try to hard reset the airpod by itself the case beeps three times and flashes orange until I close and open the case again. I can pair my old airpod just fine with the case by itself but not with both in the case. I have tried firmware updates on the airpods but can't do it to the replacement pod because it won't pair.
