Receiving AirPod notification that the two AirPod pros are different generations but they are the same.

I lost my AirPod case about a month ago so I tried to put them into a different case to charge. After doing this the AirPods Pros now keep saying that one is 1st generation and the other is 2nd generation even though they are the same. They are refusing to charge as well. Is there anything I can do to fix this.
