Cannot sync iPhone 6 to Macbook Air M1

I am trying to sync my iPhone 6 to a Macbook Air M1. It has synced a few times but it is intermittent and recently it simply does not sync. The iPhone 6 appears in Finder named correctly but the window just shows "Loading" with the rotating 'hourglass' symbol forever. I have tried the following:

  • Cleaning socket in iPhone
  • Both USB-C ports on the Macbook
  • A new USB-C to Lightning cable
  • Resetting privacy options on iPhone 6
  • Ensuring iPhone 6 and Macbook OSes are up-to-date

Nothing seems to work. Any help appreciated.

If you already tried (to no avail) ALL the steps provided in this support article:--> If your computer doesn't recognize your iPhone or iPad , I suggest that you contact Apple Support directly, using this link:--> Contact Apple for support and service

Regards and best of luck.
