I am a DJ and do not want iTunes controlling my music options. How do I remove or disable the app on MacBook Pro?
MacBook Pro 15″, macOS 11.6
For me the app launches and plays media when not expected.
The only way I have found to stop the Music app is to use the following utility, noTunes.

The problem is big enough that someone created a utility to stop it.
He could change the file associations of AAC, MP3, etc. files in the Finder, so that when he double-clicks on those types of files, the Finder opens a third-party application instead of Music.
Hi Chillaxin,
Normally, quitting the app so it is not running should be sufficient. If you are seeing a specific issue, pls provide details.
