Mail server spam filter

Is there any way to filter spam on the server prior to it being sent to my Junk folder? 99.9% of the emails sent to the Junk folder are actually junk but I still have to go through it to check for any misses and with 100+ a day, its a task I can do without.

Is it possible to block emails from even getting to my Junk folder? I have a ton of "Camp Lejune" emails as an example and setting up a filter to block that would lessen the amount of emails I have to scan through.

Hello Junebug172,

You can setup inbox rules with iCloud and those will be evaluated / run before it hits your Junk folder, or any folder for that matter. You can customize a wide range of rules either on iCloud.com in the Mail app or on your MacBook. Please refer to the following support pages for help with Mail rules. If you tell me more about your device, I can try to help you set them up as well!

  1. Use rules to manage emails you receive in Mail on Mac - Apple Support
  2. Set up rules to filter email in Mail on iCloud.com - Apple Support

I hope this helps!

I use Apple Mail Application too

But the Mail Server can be any servers outside of iCloud

If iCloud is what was meant

Then No unless you have created Mail Rules in www.icloud.com and created the Rule there

Even so, as iCloud uses the IMAP Protocol - what is reflected on iCloud would be reflected back into the Mail Application

This article from Apple has been effective for my usage and detailing with some Junk Mailers

Block or unblock senders in Mail on Mac

Some e-mail servers may or may not offer Server Side Blocking of specific e-mail addresses and or Domain Names

This would require the user to log into the WebPortal of your e-mail Servers and manually input the Offending e-mail address or Domain Name.

The Domain Name could be problematic as any e-mail received containing that Domain would be Blocked

On the most part Spammers are always 1 or two steps ahead of use not matter how hard we try to Block them

The best we can do is Limit your exposure to Whom we have allowed to Harvest our e-mail addresses

This is expected for the reasons already mentioned

This external site may provide some insights as to how Exposed or e-mail address actually is

Have tested both my own e-mail addresses and those of my family.

To my surprise, a Well Know Software Developer had Data Breach as did my own ISP

Below is a Redacted small snap shot of some of the very long list of telephone numbers and e-mail addresses I have Blocked

Yes, they do arrive and are immediately caught and put in the Junk Folder

Once I am certain they are Junk - one click from second image and presto that are ALL Gone - not even put to Trash

I get we'll never completely block them, but dealing with 20 junk mails as apposed to 100+ a day is better. Again, blocking emails doesn't work - it's a waste of time. I'd think a keyword filter would be most effective.

Having to manage a Junk Mail folder daily is not productive and Apple needs to address this as I'm coming to the conclusion that there's no solution to this.
