At a loss … can I get my iCloud back?

Someone changed my Apple ID password, and when I went to change it back and hopefully save my account my trusted number was no longer the number I have used/had linked to my account since the beginning of my apple use. So I have now lost all of my iCloud saves and email? Forever? Is there *any* way to confirm identification and get access to all of my data again. That email is linked to every app I own. I’ve made a lot of purchases too. So I can’t recover? Desperately asking for assistance!

I know my bank has multiple questions to confirm I am who I am including even voice recognition! You would think apple could help and be more vigilant on this fraud issue.

Only you can be vigilant about issues of fraud. That includes using strong passwords and enabling two-factor authentication. See,If you think your Apple ID has been compromised - Apple Support
