Panic Medic Boot.. A third party kernel extension was preventing the machine... Need an expert

Woke up to crashed computer last Monday and now not sure how to fix? Need expert help

Last Monday my daily driver (MacBook Pro Late 2019) fully maxed out ($3300 refurbished in Mar 2020) started having issues. Once booting up it would last maybe an hour then crash. I was able to pull most data off to externals, but still stuck. Took it to an ASP and they Revived it because was getting stuck on Internet Recovery not loading, but they were unable to restore it. I picked up the machine and it seems I am able to run Catalina, but whenever I go up above that there are issues with the updates. I have searched and search to no avail. The ASP recommended replacing the logic board which is $1k fix. Not exactly the route I want to take.. I use the machine for virtualization and one the copied VMs are of course unable to run on Apple's silicon so have been trying everything I can think of to update it to the latest OS, but keep running in to update issues. Have tried Big Sur, Monterrey, Ventura, etc..

I've wiped the computer completely and tried reinstalling numerous times, but the only OS that takes hold is Catalina.

Any help would be great. Leaving out of town tomorrow and need this working.

Thanks!!!

when I say completely ERASE the drive, I mean:

Select the drive by its immutable manufacturer-given device-name

and erase THAT.

If not showing, use the View menu to 'show all devices'

if you have a T2 based device (2108 or later) and that has not been successful, you will probably need to do a restore from another Mac running 10.15.6 or later.

I was running latest Ventura before all the crashes began so virtualization (VMware) was up to date. The VMs subsequently were already updated to work with Venture and the latest VMware. I am unable to access them now unless I am on Intel VMware with Ventura.... Think after this I'm switching to server and proxmox for virtualization.... Nightmare fuel over here

Thank you for responding

I followed the instructions and no crashes yet. Now I am trying to upgrade to Ventura, but am unable to do so. Ran another EtreCheck Pro report and screenshot as well.

Catalina is the only OS that will run on the machine. Anything above does not succeed in installing. Have tried from USB and internet. Local ASP indicated it was probably from a faulty logic board. Not sure what to think.

Catalina that you are running now uses APFS Volume Groups, but anything later wants to create a locked, checksummed system Volume, so a major re-arrangement and change in drive structure is required.

The name showing on your drive leads me to believe its Apple File System structure has been clobbered.

¿what is the date of your most recent backup, and by what method?

Further progress may require that you completely Erase the drive, install the later MacOS, and restore your files from backup.

I was running Ventura at the time and no backups. I was able to pull most off on USB/NAS until Ventura began crashing <1hr. I have tried completely erasing the drive and installing Big Sur, Monterrey, and Ventura from USB, but the install process fails each time. No idea what to do now. Computer is relatively young in Mac years. Paid $3300 for it in March 2020 and it basically sits on a desk. No travel or liquid damage. Not sure what to make of it.. Any ideas? I'll try anything at this point in full cowboy mode.

I paid the Apple Service Provider $70 to try and restore without any luck. They said they were receiving an error in the memory. Be interested to see if we can get it working again. Thank you again

You may want to ask your service provider for more details.

Regardless of whether it was RAM memory or disk memory that was the issue, a 2019 MacBook Pro has both of those soldered to the mainboard for maximum reliability.

It sounds like you may need a replacement mainboard to make progress.
