Need Help Disabling Option F14 System Shortcut for Custom Use in Photoshop

I've encountered a dilemma with my Mac's system shortcuts, specifically the shortcut Option + F14. This system-wide shortcut currently opens up the path: System Preferences > Displays. However, I'm interested in disabling this shortcut so that I can repurpose it for a different use.

I have attempted to alter this from System Preferences > Keyboard > Shortcuts > Display, but the options available there only allow for adjusting F14, not Option + F14.

For additional context, I use Option + F13 (rotate cw) and Option + F14 (rotate ccw) to rotate the canvas in Photoshop. Unfortunately, I can't map Option + F14 to my Keydial, because they're already designated as system shortcuts.

Any suggestions for how to solve this issue would be highly appreciated. Thanks!

In the System/Keyboard/Function Keys settings pane turn this ON:

This will free up the F keys by making you hold down the Fn key to enable each F key. Then you can try to set the Option+F14 key combination to do what you want in Photoshop.

If that doesn't work try getting a macro app like Keyboard Maestro to setup the keystroke you want to do whatever you want in Photoshop. i use it and have over 100 macros. One change the CSS file and minimum font size in Safari with a two key combination;

It also lets you add canned replays by just typing a 3 or 4 character string like x2cov for the following;

Have you installed and run any "cleaning", "optimizing", "speed-up", anti-virus or VPN apps on your Mac?

Hello and thank you for your response!

My issue isn't related to accessing or inputting the Option + F14 key combination. I can use this shortcut successfully, but it's functionality is currently locked to bring up the display settings. You can disable the F14 shortcut, but not the Option+F14 one, as it isn't listed anywhere in the system shortcuts options menu.

What I'm trying to do is disable this system-wide shortcut at the MacOS level, so that I can repurpose it for a different function in Photoshop. The challenge is, I haven't found a way to disable this specific shortcut in MacOS settings, which restricts me from using it for my custom Photoshop command.

I'll look into Keyboard Maestro as you've suggested, and see if that might offer a workaround. Thanks!
