GIF use in messages with Screen Time

When I have screen time restrictions enabled for my daughter's iphone she is unable to use gifs (#image) in text messages. The red icon with the magnifying glass shows up in the drawer for composing a message but it doesn't do anything when she taps it. Memoji and stickers do not work either. I am wondering if this is due to explicit content restrictions. She can send text and photo messages just fine.

Hello Tmstro,

Does it seem that all of the iMessage apps work as normal for your daughter when Screen Time is disabled? Testing that out can help to confirm if the two are connected, if you haven't just yet.
