Hi Spice0826,

Thanks for posting in Apple Support Communities. First, you mentioned having recently gotten a new iPhone. Did you then restore it from a backup of your previous iPhone? If so, you might be seeing a prompt for the password used to purchase one or more apps on your iPhone. This is because app purchases are linked to the Apple ID originally used to download them. If you believe that this is an Apple ID that you used to have and that there may be content you need there, you can go through account recovery as you mentioned. You can get started from How to use account recovery when you can’t reset your Apple ID password - Apple Support.

Since it's likely that this is due to a previously downloaded app, you can also check your purchase history to see which apps were downloaded with your current Apple ID using these steps from View your purchase history for the App Store, iTunes Store, and other Apple media services - Apple Support.

"On your iPhone or iPad

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Tap your name, then tap Media & Purchases.
  3. Tap View Account. You might be asked to sign in.
  4. Tap Purchase History.
  5. Your purchase history appears. Tap Last 90 Days, then select a different date range."

Try deleting any apps that are not in your purchase history and then see if you still get the prompt for the other Apple ID.

All the best.
