Hello curtycurt,

If you haven't yet, try playing the original video or a different one to see if QuickTime will still play audio at that time. That can help to get things isolated down.

This page can also provide some additional suggestions: If a media file doesn't open or play on your Mac, iPhone, or iPad - Apple Support

Apple apps such as Photos, iMovie, Safari, Keynote, and QuickTime Player work with many media formats. Some apps prefer specific formats, but most formats work in most apps without additional software. Older or specialized formats might not work as expected if your device, its operating system (macOS, iOS, or iPadOS), or the app you're using to view or play the file doesn't support the file's format.

Install all available software updates for your Mac and software updates for your iPhone or iPad. After updating, if you still don't have an app that supports the media format used by the file, search the internet or App Store for an app that does. You can search by the name of the format, or by the filename extension, which is the letters shown at the end of the file's name, such as .avi, .wmv, or .mkv.

As the page above notes, you may also try seeing if the video will play audio within another app from the web or the App Store.

Cheers.

G'day curtycurt,

Thanks for letting us know. Installing Logic Pro X shouldn't cause this behavior, so we'd like to have you try a test to see if we can further narrow this down. Since it sounds like the issue is happening with a specific clip, we recommend testing by recording a new video and then attempting to trim it. When you do this, do you get the same result? This will help determine if the issue is with the specific clip: Trim a movie or clip in QuickTime Player on Mac - Apple Support

Take care.
