Apple verification code pop-up disappears before I can press approve

Thanks. Deleting some of my devices from icloud access - and then putting them back as needed later seemed to work for me. It's quite a problem though, as the whole point of having several apple devices is that they talk to each other and an update on one works on all. If this stops working, there is little point in keeping to apple devices

Rebooted everything… twice. Removed every old or shared device. Turned off all but one of the active devices. This increased the allowed window to press Allow from about 0.01s to maybe as long as 0.1s, which is barely possible with enough tries and your finger hovering RIGHT THERE as you press Resend with your other hand.

This system is not even vaguely functional, even under the best conditions possible.

I may be wrong but, I laid phone down, and waited for the message to come, and this time the code did not disappear. Extremely annoying

I have this same issue with Win 11 Pro for password verification only. Drive and photos are syncing as expected. If I choose to verify by email it seems to verify by password manager fails to receive any passwords with a spinning circle indicating it's waiting. Some security measure seems to be blocking. I suspected the PC so I used an alternate iCloud ID that I no longer use and it worked without issue. This suggest to me, it may be at the account level but all user end setting are identical.

Is there a waiting period to use this feature?

I tried turning off my devices except for my laptop, then turning my phone back on and taking a slow motion video of the popup when i clicked "allow." I got the code, but every time I put it in it just said "verification failed / an unknown error occurred."

Yes this doesn't work BUT. Go to the Apple Store and sign in from there and the Notification will stay and work !!!

I solved my problem by using sms. Good luck!

SMS does not help / work if you are trying to enable iCloud on Windows for password and keychain. It will not unlock. Must be the other code! Thanks though.

I have the same issue and it does not help.

Furthermore, I just used the two way authentication to log in to my apple account to write this message. So, it seems it is clearly an iCloud for Windows issue (without me knowing the technical details)

I have the same issue.

The popup disappears on my iPhone, iPad and Macbook before I can read the code.

Restarting any of those devices, including the windows machine does not resolve the issue.

Using the sms method does not work either.

Please help!

I’m glad to hear this helped. I struggled with this for a couple weeks. I’m not sure how this happened but maybe if you had shared legacy apps on your phone or iOS device, you family members device became a trusted device.

Also experiencing the Mac/iPhone devices I can verify on when signing into a new MacBook iCloud account in System Settings on the new machine.

Wanted to share a workaround that worked for me

1. Open Safari
2. New tab to iCloud.com
3. Log in and wait for the verification modal on your device
4. Enter the verification code for the iCloud login
5. Do not close the popup modal on the device you just verified with
6. Open system settings on the machine
7. Go to the iCloud login and begin the process
8. The verification code wil kind of 're-use' the popup
9. Click "Allow"
10. Now the verification code popup will stay on screen and you can use the code

System Settings >> (Your Name at the top for Apple Account) >> Sign-in and Security >> click "Two-Factor Authentication" >> "Get a Verification Code"
