Where does a Mac store music? For some reason, many of my songs and artists have disappeared. I want to go to time machine and recover an older date so I can get everything back. I have a mac running Ventura

Files that are newly added by one of the common methods (download from iTunes Store, conversion of an existing file, added via the "Automatically Add" folder, etc.) are placed into the Music Media folder designated in your preferences. Files from the past may be elsewhere, depending what settings were in effect at the time. For files that have recently "disappeared," search on your drive, including the Trash/Recycle bin.
Music Media did not help. What is the actual name of the file where stored?
