iPhone 12 pro max keeps dropping wifi signal, then saying password incorrect when reconnecting

Since the 16.5.1 (c) update my keeps reverting to cellular data and then telling me the password is incorrect when I try to rejoin wifi. Restarting the phone works for a while but eventually it happens again. I’ve also noticed a slowness in data in general as well as the top third of my phone on the back opposite the camera running very hot at times.

The Private IP Address option on iPhones can sometimes create reconnection difficulties with the Wi-Fi network.

Try the following on your iPhone

Tap Settings > Wi-Fi

Tap on the blue "i" next to the name of the Wi-Fi network

Scroll down and locate the setting for Private Wi-Fi Address

Turn it off

Then, power off your Wi-Fi router for a minute and then power it back up
