Thank you for sharing your issues. Just know you and I aren't the only ones and that there are many others in this predicament. Apple is working on trying to resolve my issue and I just heard today that it is being bumped up to the next level of Apple engineering. I was happy that my Senior Advisor followed up with me and is keeping me updated on the status of my issue. I was told to be sure to download any future updates that come up. I also asked if there is anything I need to be careful with or not do, in the meantime. I was told no. I can continue to do everything like before.
You may want to reach out to Apple Support.
Also, I'm not sure if these two explanations may help you understand what is going on - Apple has just changed how they release their security updates. I had it explained to me today by my Apple Senior Advisor. Try reading the following in Apple Communities:
- What are Rapid Security Response Updates? Author: Pjswiz
- Updating iOS: Common issues and solutions. Author: Lawrence Finch
I hope their explanations can help you.
Since this is a new approach for Apple, they probably need to work out some of the bugs. It is a good concept though - instead of updating the whole system, they are just doing quick fixes. They are rapid/quick security updates. Should take no time at all. Hopefully, our issues will get resolved quickly and we will be able to do the rapid security responses in mere minutes, like everyone else.
