You don't mention the exact model of the laptop. With a 2015+ model, the Trackpad uses Haptic feedback which can simulate the clicking noise of the older mechanical trackpads. The only items which may make noise on the newer 2015+ Retina laptops are the Trackpad, Speakers, and Fans. I have never really seen or heard an Apple trackpad make any noises when they have failed, but it is a slim possibility if it is a 2015+ model laptop.
It is highly unlikely you will hear any noise from the SSD, although some SSDs may emit a high pitch sound, but it is very hard to hear (I've only ever heard this with one Apple SSD years ago), beside with the Apple USB-C laptops, the SSD is just chips integrated onto the Logic Board like any other chip. The other noise sources are much more likely. Fan bearing noise on the Apple USB-C laptops can sound like static noise or a light rattling noise.
Try running the Apple Diagnostics to see if any hardware issues are detected.
Most likely you will need to have an Apple tech examine the laptop to determine the source of the sound you are hearing.
