What is this "com.burbn.barcelona" app showing up in a list of on my iPhone, and how can I remove it?

I was just setting up notifications on my FitBit Charge 5 and saw that one of the apps I can enable is "com.burbn.barcelona." It doesn't show up anywhere else on my phone. Not in the app library, not in any of my privacy & security settings, not in my notification settings, not even when I run safety check. It doesn't even have an icon. This leaves me worrying that it's something I don't want.

A search turned up a reference to it being part of Threads or Instagram, so I deleted those and restarted. It's still there.

What is this thing, how much should I be concerned, and how do I get rid of it?

BTW, my software is current - 16.5.1c

Thanks!

com.burbn.barcelona is some piece of Threads or Instagram that shouldn't be there, but is lingering even after I uninstalled both apps. It just happens that it is showing up in a list of apps that can request FitBit to send notifications to my watch. My guess is that it is a well hidden tracker that was designed not to appear in other lists of apps, but something about the way FitBit does things made it appear there.

Hi chasc,

Thanks for posting in Apple Support Communities. Since this appears in your Fitbit app, the app developer may be in the best position to assist further. However, before reaching out them, the following steps from If an app on your iPhone or iPad stops responding, closes unexpectedly, or won’t open - Apple Support can be completed on your iPhone and can help with individual app issues.

1 Close and reopen the app
Force the app to close. Then open the app to see if it works as expected.

2 Restart your device
Restart your iPhone or restart your iPad. Then open the app to see if it works as expected.

3 Check for updates
To see if updates are available for the app, open the App Store, tap your profile icon, then scroll down to see if updates are available. If updates aren't available for the app, update the software on your iPhone or iPad.

4 Delete the app, then redownload it
Delete the app. When you do this, you might lose data that was stored in the app. Then redownload the app. Then check to see if the problem with the app is fixed.

If after trying those steps, the same continues, you can use the guidance from How to contact an app developer - Apple Support to help you get in touch with the app developer directly.

All the best.
