"iPhone is being erased” Does this mean the iPhone has been erased successfully?

My phone was recently stolen and I requested to erase all my data through find my iPhone. After “pending erase” I got an email saying that “iPhone is being erased”. Does this mean the iPhone has been erased or will I receive another confirmation email from Apple about this? I have read that if the erase was successful an email will be sent to me. But I haven't receive any email saying so. But when I opened my find my iPhone on my iCloud it says "Erased 5hours ago" does that mean that the erase was successful?
