What does a globe under a triangle with an exclamation point mean?

I’m trying to restore a MacBook Pro to factory settings to give it to a friend. I got to the point that the hard drive (Macintosh HD) was erased and renamed but it didn’t bring up the option to reinstallmacOS.

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 13.4

"A globe with an exclamation point means that your Mac tried to

start up from macOS Recovery over the Internet, but couldn't."

If it dying, after you reinstall the OS do these things..

What has often worked for others is to use this Restore Method instead of CMD+r keys...

Option-⌘-R

Upgrade to the latest macOS compatible with your Mac.
