A Solution to a Problem Between Ventura and Printing Orders

I would like to share with you a solution to a problem I encountered two days ago. I recently purchased a new MacBook with Ventura, and when I attempted to print, the printer was unresponsive. The printer model is Canon LBP3010. I tried the following troubleshooting steps without success:

1. Restarted the printer multiple times.

2. Downloaded the latest driver version from the official website.

3. Shut down and started up the Mac, or rebooted it multiple times.

4. Reset the printing system in the system settings.

5. Enabled "Auto proxy discovery" in the system settings.

Afterwards, I contacted Apple's support team for several hours, but we couldn't find a permanent solution to the problem. They provided me with a temporary solution that helped me understand the issue. The interim solution involved creating a test user account solely for printing. When I logged into the new account and attempted to print, I was prompted to authorize printer control by entering the username and password of the main administrator account. This workaround worked, but when the Apple team instructed me to delete the test user, the problem resurfaced when using the normal admin account.

Despite spending hours with Apple's team (who were very helpful), we couldn't find a resolution. The next day, I decided to try an experiment:

    1. Logged into the guest account and attempted to print from there.
    2. The account prompted me to approve printer usage by entering the username and password of the main account, and the printing was successful.
    3. Logged out of the guest account, ensuring that files and information were deleted as requested.
    4. Logged back into the main account and attempted to print.
    5. The printer now works normally, without the need to create a test user.

I wanted to share this solution with you, as it may benefit those who have encountered the same problem.

after update to Sonoma I had the same problems with canon ip8750. by luck I got through to an apple support that had this problem. I think that after update the printer settings use apple drivers by default. I had updated the drivers provided by canon. AirPrint did not give me the list of options I require for quality photos. If you go to printer settings the driver , the bottom option, gives you a choice if the arrow on the box is clicked. Below the chosen default one was the canon driver. I clicked on that and my problem was solved, I had the full list of quality and media options and it worked as it had before the update.
