iPhone Lost with Bose QC II Earbuds

I have an iPhone 14 Pro and when I recently updated to IOS 16.5.1(c) I consistently get the “iPhone lost” message after connecting my Bose QC II earbuds - that formerly worked flawlessly. No matter how many times I “forget” and reconnect the earbuds (as directed), they will not stay connected. My old Apple AirPods still work - curiously - but I cannot get the Bise earbuds to remain connected for more than a minute. I’ve read another article on this same issue - with 88 “me too”s - but that customer was on a beta IOS version and I am not. Help?!!

Hello RobynBNagy,

Thanks for choosing the Apple Support Communities. We see you're having trouble keeping a Bluetooth headset connected to your iPhone. We have a few steps that may help resolve the issue. Try each of the steps below and test.

  1. Update to iOS 16.6: Update iOS on iPhone - Apple Support
  2. Check for firmware updates through Bose
  3. Check for sources of wireless interference: Resolve Wi-Fi and Bluetooth issues caused by wireless interference - Apple Support
  4. Restart all devices and test again: Restart your iPhone - Apple Support
  5. Follow: If you can't connect a Bluetooth accessory to your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

  • "If you previously connected your Bluetooth accessory to your iOS or iPadOS device, unpair the accessory, put it back in discovery mode, then try to pair and connect it again.
  • If you can pair your accessory with some devices but not your iOS or iPadOS device, unpair the accessory from your other devices. Then try to pair with your iOS or iPadOS device again.
  • To find out whether your accessory is compatible with your iOS or iPad OS device, contact the manufacturer of the accessory.
  • If you still have any of these issues, contact Apple Support:
    • You can’t turn on Bluetooth or the setting is grayed out.
    • You can’t connect any Bluetooth accessories with your device.
    • The accessory manufacturer confirmed that your accessory is working correctly."

We hope this helps.

Cheers!
