iPhone treat the Mac like a battery

I attempted to connect my devices using a C-to-lightning cable, but it doesn't seem to work. The phone still charges up using the mac battery, frankly though it chose not to appear in the finder sidebar. I searched the issue and read several articles on how to fix it, but none of the suggested solutions worked. I would appreciate any help.

Hello tanacl,

Based on what you've shared your iPhone is performing expected behavior. When plugged in to your MacBook it should charge. If your Mac is not plugged in this will use your device battery.

If your device is not recognized in Finder when plugged in please follow the guidance listed here: If your computer doesn't recognize your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

Take care!
